Boeing Defense, Space and Security is seeking an end-to-end Senior Communications/Networks Systems Engineer to support our Satellite Division located in the Puget Sound area .

This exciting systems engineer position will work on emerging programs developing the next-generation technologies in space. The ideal candidate is passionate about space and excited to work in a multi-disciplined, collaborative engineering environment to design, develop and implement control and communications software for Boeing satellites. The position will be a deputy to the chief engineer on programs.

Position Responsibilities:
Define and integrate the end-end communications and networking systems architecture for a space system

Provide technical flowdown of systems requirements to several spacecraft and ground subsystems

Own end-end analyses for the end-end communications link

Partner with customers on system of systems solutions

Lead a team of Systems Engineers for the development requirements for innovative projects, use cases and sequence diagrams and Interface Control Documents (ICDs) for complex space and ground architectures

Analyze, verify, and validate performance of hardware and software components in a space system

Support planning for and execution of subsystem and vehicle-level integration and test campaign

Work closely with other engineering disciplines in an integrated team environment to develop system architecture in compliance with interface definitions and system/subsystem requirements

Support stakeholder needs through analysis, technical performance measures (TPM) definition, requirements analysis, and allocation & definition for subcontractors, utilizing Cameo, JIRA and Confluence

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at the listed location.

This position requires an active U.S. Top Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active)

Special Program Access or other Government Access Requirements are mandatory for this position.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
Bachelor's, Master's or Doctorate of Science degree in Engineering, Physics, or related technical course of study

10+ years of Systems Engineering on aerospace platforms or similar highly regulated products

Experience with communications and network architecture definition and development

Experience with requirements development, verification, validation, ICDs, risk, issues and opportunities management and trade studies

Experience with spacecraft and/or space systems architecture

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):
Experience utilizing Model Based Engineering (MBE or MBSE) tools

Technical education or experience in space vehicle engineering disciplines

Experience working across multiple disciplines in a rapid development environment

Typical Education/ Experience:
Bachelor's degree typically 14 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a Master's degree with typically 12 or more years' experience in an engineering classification or a PhD degree with typically 9 or more years' experience in an engineering classification. Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry. ABET is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Summary pay range: $157,250 - $212,750
