Job Summary:
The Senior DataOps Platform Administrator is responsible for the operations and support for the Surescripts EDM platform technologies, including ETL, data governance, data quality, and process scheduling tools. The Senior DataOps Platform Administrator ensures that platforms are performing to their potential and addresses any issues that arise. The Senior DataOps Platform Administrator will also play a key role in supporting jobs in a complex data warehouse and data lake job network.
The Senior DataOps Platform Administrator will drive improvement efforts that help optimize the administration and performance of the tooling, including the use of DataOps best practices. The position will play a key role in change management, be a liaison to vendors, and will execute to the ongoing platform roadmap.
Responsibilities:

Administer DataOps technology platforms for ETL, governance, quality, and process scheduling, including patching, upgrades, monitoring and support for operational data warehouse and data lake environments.

Install and maintain new versions of tools and support the technology platform roadmap

Perform capacity planning, performance management, and security of environments

Monitor and support a complex data warehouse and data lake job network in conjunction with EDM engineering, operations, database administration, and system administration support teams

Define, follow, and champion administration best practices including deployment, version control and change management to all environments

Identify inefficiencies in current processes and lead change in a manner that gets support from the teams involved

Provide technical leadership to others supporting data warehouse and data lake processes

Partner with database administration, system administration, network and EDM Agile teams to drive operational excellence
Qualifications
Basic Requirements:
-
Bachelor’s Degree in the field of computer science, information systems, or computer engineering, or equivalent work experience
-
5+ years of experience in related, progressive roles supporting a major technical platform in a production 24x7 IT environment
-
5+ years of experience supporting an ETL platform – DataStage or equivalent platform
-
2+ years of experience in ETL engineering
-
Experience with operating enterprise scheduling tools
-
Experience with incident management and paging technologies
-
Demonstrated knowledge of engineering and operations best practices
-
Demonstrated knowledge of change management and deployment procedures in an IT environment
-
Oracle DBMS knowledge and experience
-
SQL skills
-
Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to work through urgent production matters
Preferred Qualifications:

IBM DataStage technology administration proficiency

Informatica EDC, Axon, and IDQ technology proficiency

Familiarity with Hadoop administration

Familiarity with Data Warehouse and BI engineering tools such as Tableau, Microsoft SSRS
