ocV!BE is a premier mixed-use community and live entertainment district coming to Anaheim in 2024. This $3 billion, 95-acre, mixed-use community will surround its anchor, Honda Center, with new live entertainment venues, dining and retail offerings, and public amenities. From intimate clubs to a new 6K-capacity concert venue, ocV!BE will provide a full range of entertainment, activating the District daily for the enjoyment of its guests.
ocV!BE Digital Experience Design (DXD) is an embedded creative technology team that helps radically transform places into futuristic experiences with integrity and resonance. We are a passionate and multidisciplinary team comprised of creatives, strategists, environment designers, software engineers, system architects, and creative technologists who are building the future of experience management. We deliver impactful customer experiences through immersive and interactive activations, district applications, high-impact fan activations, emerging technology campaigns, and more.
We are looking for a Senior Digital Designer who has a love of design systems and craft and deep understanding of both as they apply to interaction and experience design. Reporting directly to the Executive Creative Director, this role is perfect for an experienced designer who wants to guide team members to bold and beautiful solutions across a variety of projects, from mobile and web applications to immersive installations. You’ll be a guiding light into uncharted waters, designing for complex challenges and creating visual systems for future experiences in a smart city context.

The Work: As a Senior Digital Designer, you are a hands-on doer responsible for the design integrity across a variety of projects. You’ll report to the Executive Creative Director and work closely with the Creative and Development teams to:
  • Establish design direction for a variety of interactive projects
  • Concept and deliver beautiful and functional designs
  • Create visual language and systems that leverage leading-edge technology and physical environmental design in the creation of entirely novel experiences for many different types of audiences
  • Collaborate on all aspects of experiential design from concept through to physical, digital, and virtual execution
You would also work with Developers and Creatives—from Animators, UX, 3D Designers, and Creative Technologists to Backend Developers and Architects—to help guide project visions to reality by:
  • Participating in brainstorming sessions
  • Offering reference materials and vision
  • Creating assets such as storyboards, design mockups, prototypes, concept decks, and other visual materials
  • Providing guidance and a being a soundboard for decisions and tradeoffs during the execution phase of a project
  • Providing feedback and guidance to junior team members
  • Maintaining creative integrity and ensuring standards are met

  • An understanding of experiential spaces, interaction design, and design systems
  • An ability to think big picture and distill it down into actionable pieces
  • An ability to communicate clearly, both written and orally
  • Problem-solving skills in a creative capacity
  • Comfort with the unknown and designing for the never been done before
  • An understanding of human-centered design and user journeys in physical spaces
  • A track record of successfully bringing experiential installations and activations to life
  • Attention to detail and a love of craft

We are a small and diverse team that is scaling quickly to service the creation and experiential support of the ocV!BE smart district in Anaheim. ocV!BE is a living laboratory focused around entertainment, sustainability, wellness, and community. You’ll be working alongside creative technologists, strategists, 3D artists, developers, and others to inform the digital ecosystem that will support everything from live immersive events to chef incubators and more. You will have the opportunity to work on high-impact media experiences that will be viewed by millions of district visitors and shape the future of what smart cities can be. This is a full-time, full benefits role with the opportunity to be either remote or in-person in Anaheim on-site at ocV!BE.
