Job Summary:
This role operates as the primary financial steward of the West Henrietta Distribution site, as well as for the overall Americas Distribution operation. This role requires active and robust financial planning and analytic skills. The ideal candidate for this role not only serves as a Finance leader, but as a business advisor and counsellor to the operations leadership team.
Essential Functions & Accountabilities:
- Primary financial steward of the West Henrietta Distribution site, as well as financial leader of the broader Americas Distribution operation. This role is also responsible for total West Henrietta site financial leadership, inclusive of indirect support of Packaging operation.
- Serves as a key business leader and strategist for West Henrietta site leadership team, as well as the Americas Finance Leadership Team (AFLT). This role will provide advice and counsel beyond the financials.
- Responsible for developing highly detailed and robust Annual Operating Plans (AOP), formal quarterly forecasts, as well as intra-quarter financial updates for the Americas business unit. This role ensures that the financial outcomes and the variables / dependencies driving those outcomes are always clear.
- Develop and maintain advanced yet nimble financial models that allow for active scenario planning as business conditions change.
- Partnering with global and local shared service center teams, support development and compliance of inventory controls, ensuring accounting of site inventory is recorded in accordance with group accounting policies.
- Operate as a liaison between operations and commercial leadership, translating operations data into actionable commercial behaviors. Actively partners with commercial and finance leadership to ensure continuity of goals / objectives / financial results
- Develop and maintain comprehensive cost to serve models to understand operational cost structure, as well as to provide guidance to site leadership and external customers on how to drive site efficiencies.
- Provides advanced analytics to support strategic decision making, inclusive of decisions on whether to engage 3PL providers or to establish local warehouses in market.
- Support global operations initiatives through partnerships with other site finance / operations leaders, helping to drive global standardization in reporting and analytics.
- Drives cost efficiency initiatives and consistently searches for cost recovery opportunities. This includes active engagement with major vendor negotiations to ensure optimized economic outcomes.
- Provides relevant leadership groups detailed yet easy to understand financial results and variances (OpEx and CapEx), with a clear identification of underlying business and operations drivers. This includes providing counsel on corrective actions if necessary.
- Act as a change agent and business ally for ERP implementations and other systems upgrades
- Works to integrate the financial planning process of the operations site with the commercial FP&A teams, aligning milestone dates and planning calendars to maximize the financial planning output. This includes driving alignment of reporting and process across all Americas Distribution sites, as well as global Distribution stakeholders.
- Partner with global supply chain, manufacturing, and packaging groups to ensure clear alignment on strategy and planning
- This role is responsible for the direct management of 1 individual contributor and includes partnership with 2 indirect reports.
Travel Requirements:
Approximately 10% travel required (domestic and international)
Qualifications
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
- Active ‘fingers on keys’ role with extreme attention to detail
- Ability to synthesize large amounts of data into clear executive actions
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft products
- Experience with data visualization tools (Power BI, Tableau)
- Encourages new thinking and promotes / initiatives change within the business
Work Environment:
- Normal office environment within operations site (normal sounds and activities associated with a major operations site)
Experience:
- 10+ years of experience in progressive finance leadership roles
- Finance support within distribution industry required
Education:
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance / Accounting required, MBA preferred
