Senior Engineer - Chassis Job at Navistar Defense

Position Description:
We are seeking a Senior Chassis Engineer who is a leader that applies their creativity, critical thinking, and advanced problem-solving skills in order to support our vehicle platforms from concept through sustainment. This individual is responsible for leading the design, analysis, build, and validation activities for frame, axle, suspension, brakes, steering, transfer case, and driveline vehicle systems through the entire product development lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Solve technical challenges
- Support testing of chassis system designs for durability and compliance to requirements.
- Work directly with Manufacturing, Materials, Quality, Purchasing, and cross functional team members
- Plan, estimate, execute within programs/projects budget/schedule
- Follows best engineering and quality practices such as dFMEA, APQP, 8D, etc.
- Perform packaging studies and 3D data reviews
- Release 2D prints to support product/parts builds
- Develop Bill of Material (BOM) with cross functional team input
- Manage direct reports within the chassis engineering department
- Maintain product and company reputation by complying with government regulations and specific customer requirements.
Desired Skills:
- TeamCenter and UG/NX experience preferred
- Familiarity with configuration management and change control processes
- Ability to assemble detailed project plans with aggressive but achievable milestones
- Efficiently address the needs of multiple projects on a day-to-day basis
- Strong communication skills
- High sense of urgency
Requirements:
- At least 3 years of experience specific to chassis product development
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or Engineering Technology
- At least 5 years of experience in product design/development or new technologies.
- A relevant combination of additional experience or advanced degree may meet these requirements.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $100,000.00 - $125,000.00 per year
