The Neil Jones Food Company is looking for a Senior Field Operations Supervisor at our Toma-Tek facility in Firebaugh, CA. The Neil Jones Food Company processes superior quality, fresh-packed, vine-ripened California tomatoes and Pacific Northwest fruit. With headquarters in Vancouver, Washington, NJFC has been providing our nation’s discerning foodservice, retail, industrial and institutional customers the finest quality canned and pouched products for over 35 years. NJFC operates three production facilities: Northwest Packing in Vancouver, WA.; San Benito Foods, in Hollister, CA; and Toma-Tek in Firebaugh, CA.

Summary: Provides the plant with forecasted raw fruit to meet fresh pack requirements for conventional and organic products; serves as authorized Company representative to growers and packinghouses. Works with transportation companies to provide a reliable and economical service. This an exempt position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Works with Plant Manager and Corporate Office to obtain forecasted raw materials requirements and supervises seasonal field operations staff.
• Monitors crop from planting to harvest for quality, tonnage, and delivery timing and meets regularly with growers in the field to determine state of raw products and develop relationships.
• Works with Purchasing to provide detailed schedules and proper paperwork on raw fruit.
• Monitors raw fruit quality to ensure consistency and rejects undesirable product.
• Meets regularly with growers in the field to determine the state of raw products and develop relationships.

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in plant science, food technology, or business preferred; or other equivalent combination of experience and training that demonstrates the ability to perform the key responsibilities of this position.
• 7 years’ tomato food industry experience.
• 2 years’ supervisory experience.
• Valid California Driver’s license and acceptable driving record required.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug test, background check including employment and educational verification, credit screen, and to work extended schedule during the fresh pack season, typically July to early October.

Compensation:

The salary range is $101,160 - $126,450, based on a candidate’s experience and qualifications.
