JOB MISSION:
New Balance US Wholesale Senior Financial Analyst will support the US Wholesale Organization with the monthly financial close, monthly forecast, and annual budget process. They will also support the Wholesale organization as it relates to SG&A, providing analysis and reporting for actuals, forecast and budget for both the footwear and apparel businesses. In addition, they will assist in the support of one or more Sales ‘Channels’, providing analysis and reporting for sales, gross margin and expenses, and track against growth and profitability objectives. They will work cross functionally with Sales, Operations, Sales Planning, Marketing and Merchandising as necessary to assist with decision support and provide financial acumen and analysis.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Preparation of the monthly forecast with accompanying causals for variance analysis, along with probability weighted ‘risks and opportunities’ created using financial history, current performance, latest market intelligence, and information from the cost center managers and sales organization
- All necessary month-end close activities
- Communication of month, YTD and forecast results via a bespoke presentation deck, to ensure the sales teams and their support are driving towards their revenue and profitability goals
- Prepare the annual budget for all supported areas and the associated budget deck for reporting purposes. The budget process will include multiple iterations based on direction from Senior Management.
- Work with the pricing and sales planning teams to understand and analyze revenue and gross margin related to the supported Sales Channels – understand the implications of assortment changes / price changes across different retailers within supported Sales channels
- Collaborate with wider regional finance teams to ensure MTD, YTD, Forecasts and Budgets are aligned to Regional Leadership expectations
- Perform cost center SG&A analysis and identify variances to plan
REQUIREMENTS FOR SUCCESS:
- BS in Accounting or Finance
- 3-6 years’ experience with forecasting, budgeting, cost center management
- Ability to multi-task to meet tight timelines
- Exhibits strong quantitative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong computer skills. Expertise with Excel and PowerPoint.
- Ability to operate and influence in a matrix organization and develop good working relationships across many functions, regions and distribution channels.
- Experience with SAP BPC, Hyperion, and/or Microsoft D365 a plus but not required
