Senior Financial Analyst - Trinity Health Senior Communities

The primary purpose of your job position is to provide supervision of assigned staff. Oversee financial and other regulatory filings for assigned Trinity Senior Services Management (TSSM) business units. Provides analytical assistance to the reimbursement department. Prepares financial statements and related analyses for Trinity Health Senior Communities (THSC), and TSSM managed locations. Prepares various account reconciliations on a monthly basis. Assists in preparing annual budgets and forecasts for TSSM managed locations. Provides assistance to management during external and internal financial and third party audits.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

5. Establish and/or maintain as a member of the leadership team a plan to achieve operating goals.
6. Promote and maintain collaborative relationships with managers, peers, direct reports and customers by effectively fostering a team environment, building consensus and resolving conflicts.
7. Maintain department budget, place orders for equipment and supplies as necessary. Identify financial vulnerabilities and make cost reduction recommendations as needed.
8. Evaluate, develop, mentor, coach, counsel and discipline department staff. Supports other personnel from other departments through coaching and mentoring to help achieve optimum standard of excellence. Addresses issues of concern through courageous conversation and notifies department manager of any interactions requiring attention.
9. Maintains a working knowledge of applicable Federal, State, and local laws and regulations, THSC Corporate Integrity Program, Code of Ethics, as well as other policies and procedures in order to ensure adherence in a manner that reflects honest, ethical and professional behavior.
10. In light of a disaster will know your disaster recovery, crisis management and business continuity plans and act within your role that is developed within the business continuity plan. Which may include working at another location, remotely from home, and maintaining constant contact with key personnel.
11. Provides supervision to assigned staff and prepares annual performance reviews, as applicable.
12. Ensure completion and timely filing of required reporting for TSSM managed locations.
13. Assists Director of Reimbursement and Director of Finance with analytics as requested.
14. Account reconciliation review- assist in reviewing.
15. Analyzes accounts payable and payroll information systems interface ensuring this information is properly reflected in the accounting records. Works with managed location staff and home office accounts payable and payroll staff to resolve questions and ensure appropriate capture of expenses in the financial reports.
16. Prepares and analyzes monthly financial statements for assigned TSSM communities, prepares written summaries to senior management and congregation leadership ensuring accurate reporting of financial information analyzing cash, receivables, payables, debt, equity, fixed assets, revenues and expenses.
17. Interacts with external auditors on a daily basis during the year-end audit. Prepares audit workpapers and responds to questions from the external auditors. Interacts with internal audit on an as needed basis.
18. Designs, utilizes and maintains financial systems which enable the Accounting Department to efficiently manage financial data .
19. Assists in preparation of annual budgets and forecasts of TSSM managed locations. Assists in analysis of departmental budgets.
20. Prepares various balance sheet account reconciliations on a monthly basis.
21. Conducts special projects as requested by management including analysis of historical data, trends and effect of potential financial changes. Assists TSLC/TSSM management in the development of proposals, monitoring of funds and preparation of regulatory filing as required by various federal and foreign authorities.
22. Communicates regularly with Administrators and site business office managers to provide them with an understanding of accounting procedures and policies . Communicates financial information including current results, projections, budgets and audits to personnel ensuring understanding and accounting of various issues.
23. Provides assistance to management during review of financial statements and related schedules and special project analysis.
24. Assists with financial projections and viability studies for new business ventures.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
1. Must possess a comprehensive knowledge of general accounting principles and/or finance as normally obtained through a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. A minimum of three year's general accounting and/or finance experience required. CPA preferred. A combination of education and experience may be acceptable.

2. Must possess ability to develop, review and interpret financial information. Must possess strong analytical skills.

3. Must possess ability to work within a tight time constraint to meet all department standards for accuracy and production.
4. Must be action-oriented, have business acumen, manage conflict well, be customer focused, have high decision quality, flexibility to adapt to ongoing change and have organizational agility. Ability to work with minimal supervision and exercise independent judgment.
5. Possess interpersonal skills to drive collaboration, commitment and productivity when working with cross-functional teams, customers and end users. Must be comfortable functioning in a virtual, collaborative shared leadership environment.
6. Demonstrates superior written and verbal communication and presentation skills appropriate for audience comprehension. Well-developed communication skills, both written and oral, that may be used either in an on-site or virtual environment is required. Able to communicate effectively with individuals and groups representing diverse perspectives.
7. Comprehensive to expert proficiency with Microsoft product suite (MS Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.); basic knowledge and experience with electronic mail and calendaring system. Knowledge of financial systems necessary, Ability to type with speed and accuracy. Ability to use other software as required to perform the essential functions of the job.
8. Possesses a high degree of personal accountability, responsibility and independent decision making abilities with the skills to plan, organize, develop, implement and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies and procedures of the organization in line with mission, vision, and philosophy of TSLC.
9. Excellent organizational skills. Ability to perform multiple duties and functions related to daily operations and maintain excellent customer service skills. Ability to perform frequent detailed tasks and provide immediate service with frequent interruptions. Ability to change and be flexible with work priorities. Strong problem solving skills.
10. Ability to research, analyze and assimilate information from various on-site or virtual sources based on technical and experience based knowledge. Must exhibit critical thinking skills and possess the ability to prioritize workload.
11. Position requires up to 10% travel within the Community’s geographic region and to home office in Livonia, MI.
