Senior HR Business Partner, West Coast Job at Rapid Response Monitoring
Location: On-site in Corona, CA/Henderson, NV
Role Summary:
The Senior HR Business Partner covering our West Coast locations will provide support to our business groups across our 24/7 matrixed organization, regularly collaborating with HR leadership at our headquarters in Syracuse, NY, and supporting our growing Western US presence. The Sr. HRBP will lead and oversee critical functions of the Human Resources (HR) Department. This role is responsible for creating and administering HR initiatives that align with business objectives organization-wide. Additionally, the individual in this position is charged with cultivating partnerships to deliver value-added service and guidance to management and employees.
About the Position:
- Identify ways to develop and improve policies and procedures, assist with development and implementation of initiatives, procedures, and protocols that align our workforce with the strategic goals of the Company
- Provide department overview of training/onboarding protocols for new staff
- Coach and mentor at supervisory, management and director levels on Company disciplinary processes and provide guidance on employment issues
- Promote professionalism in communication and day to day engagement, and build trust across all levels of the organization as a representative/champion of HR through meetings, written communications, and daily interactions with team members at every level
- Ensure that an effective performance management program is in place and utilized in both West Coast locations to drive a high performing culture
- Monitor compliance with labor law and legislative requirements/mandates
- Engage in professional development initiatives through membership and participation in regional HR and business advocacy organizations
- Promote enthusiasm and encourage optimal participation in HR initiatives
- Partner and support HR team, management, and other staff in response to complex, specialized, and sensitive questions/issues; may be required to administer and execute customary tasks under delicate circumstances such as providing reasonable accommodations, investigating allegations of wrongdoing, and processing terminations
- Provide guidance to department managers and directors in developing job descriptions that are consistent with Company standards and appropriately convey clear expectations
- Effectively manage employee relations issues
- Assess existing policies and procedures to ensure compliance with local legal standards; development of additional policies and procedures as needed to support Company mission, objectives, and employee satisfaction
- Provide advice and direction regarding payroll/HR & Kronos requests
- Oversee, and at times, administer unemployment claims, and attend unemployment hearings on behalf of the Company, as needed
- Remain up to date with current CA, NV, federal and NYS employment law
- Create reports as requested by the EVP People Strategy & Legal Affairs and/or VP of Human Resources, Chief Financial Officer, and/or President
- Assess needs and performance gaps from which effective training and development opportunities are provided that meet the organization’s needs, in collaboration with executive leadership
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Human Resources, Business, Organizational Development or related study or four years of additional HR experience beyond the below required experience
- Minimum five years of experience in progressively senior-level Human Resource positions
- Expertise in HR principles and practices
- Knowledge and understanding of state and federal employment laws and regulations
- Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment and prioritize workload accordingly while leading a team
Preferred Qualifications
- SHRM or PHR Certificate
- Consulting and conflict resolution skills
- Successful record of developing and executing HR programs on a scale
COVID-19 Requirements
- Must be fully vaccinated: 2 doses of Pfizer/Moderna or 1 dose of Johnson & Johnson, 2 weeks prior or more
