Human Resources Generalist | Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
Experience may be considered in lieu of degree.
- Minimum of three (3) years’ experience in Human Resources, healthcare or skilled -
nursing preferred.
Senior Human Resources Generalist | Role & Responsibilities:
- Assists in the overall supervision and administration of the Human Resources Department
- Assumes responsibility as HRIS site lead
- Compiles monthly and quarterly reports, including turnover and retention reports
- Prepares and presents quality assurance reports
- Assists in annual budget planning
- Provides an advocacy/consulting role for employees experiencing problems/issues that impact their jobs
- Provides leadership in responding to employee relation issues in partnership with the appropriate line manager/supervisor
- Assists with recruitment and selection process, as needed. Work with management to ensure the selection of the best candidates for all positions.
- Assists with the coordination and facilitation of the new employee hiring process
- Assists in the delivery the new employee orientation - updates and maintains relevant materials
- Maintains close contact with new hires for the first six (6) months
- Direct the formation and interpretation of policies and programs, as needed
- Develop, facilitate, and deliver management training and other employee workshops and classes
- Track and ensure EEOC, FMLA, ADA, and OSHA compliance
- Administer and monitor benefits plans to include health, EAP, tuition reimbursement, and retirement programs. Facilitate employee communications to enhance the understanding and appreciation of the benefits programs
- Monitor employee appraisal process
- When necessary, works with supervisors and employees to create development plans needed to capitalize on strengths, identify weaknesses, and compensate for liabilities
- Designs, administers, and evaluates learning interventions including, but not limited to in-services and one-on-one coaching
- Reviews all disciplinary measures taken by management staff/program directors
- Provides guidance and direction. Directly responsible for all suspensions and terminations of staff
- Audits personnel files for employees who have resigned or are terminated
- Audits KChecks on a monthly basis for new hires and terminations, makes corrections as necessary
- Assists in completion of all necessary documentation on new hires, including CHRC and any other necessary background checks, as needed
- Directly responsible for all grievances or other issues brought forth by the Union
- Function on the negotiating team in conjunction with leadership and facility’s attorney during all bargaining sessions
- Assist in the review of facility wage structure, research market trends for salary
- Research the development of new positions, as needed
- Study and suggest staffing changes that result in efficiencies and cost-savings
- Assess worker’s compensation claims and costs. Recommend strategies to manage claims and costs
- Assists in the design and implementation of employee satisfaction surveys
- Maintains effective communication with employees through various channels (e.g. newsletters, TVs, bulletin boards, etc.)
- Assist in the development and implementation of wellness and safety initiative in all facilities. This includes WC and health care costs and claims. Look for ways to decrease costs and ensure the safety of employees. Monitor WC, DBL, and FMLA claims to ensure compliance
- Develop and implement policies, procedures, and practices designed to ensure compliance with the Compliance Program and Plan and acceptable laws and regulations
- Develop and coordinate educational and training programs and materials
- Conduct and facilitate internal audits to evaluate compliance and assess internal controls
- Recruit and ensure appropriate placement for CNA classes. Produces turnover statistics for CNA training classes
- Maintain a professional working relationship with the NYS Department of Health and other government agencies
- Prepares annual Employee Awards and Scholarship presentation materials, certificates, and check requests
- Coordinates Employee of the Month and Employee of the Year awards with facility administration
- Assists in the promotion and coordination of Schofield Star initiatives at every facility
- Assists in the planning and execution of employee engagement activities, including annual employee recognition event
- All other duties as assigned
- Adheres to dress code policy at all times
- Adheres to the time and attendance policy at all times
- Assures the safety, security, and well-being of our patients and residents
- Practices safe work habits and follows all safety procedures of the facility
