JOB SUMMARY

The Mispro Institutional Animal Care and Use Committee (IACUC) fosters and supports the oversight of the responsible and humane care and use of animals used in research within Mispro’s network of AAALAC-accredited contract vivariums. The Senior IACUC Analyst will provide support for the IACUC & to our client research community to assure compliance of Mispro’s animal care and use program with federal, state, and local regulations. This position will report directly to the IACUC Manager.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES & ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Participates in and/or administratively supports oversight of IACUC (e.g., collaboratively coordinating & participating in inspections and program reviews, prepare and conduct training activities, post-approval monitoring (PAM) visits, preparing required reports, etc.) to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal requirements.
• Oversee the entire protocol submission and approval process, including pre-review, committee review, collection & maintenance of review comments/communications. Serve as an expert liaison between the client and the IACUC by conducting high-quality and timely pre-reviews for protocol submissions.
• Participates in the development and revision of institutional animal care and use/safety programs, policies and standard operating procedures.
• Communicates with clients and provides guidance pre- and post-submission on how to resolve particular issues and meet requirements of external regulatory bodies; and properly documents these actions in accordance with all applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures.
• Assist in supporting the program through other requested duties as necessary.

QUALIFYING CANDIDATE PROFILE

• Demonstrated working knowledge of The Guide for the Care and Use of Laboratory Animals, The Animal Welfare Act Regulations, and other standards governing the care and use of animals in research.
• Clear commitment to the welfare of animals used in research.
• Ability to work unsupervised while maintaining high quality of work and meeting established deadlines.
• Strong communication, interpersonal (transparency, professionalism, integrity, trust) and organizational skills including a keen attention to detail and the ability to overcome adversarial interactions in a firm but diplomatic manner. Must maintain a positive, collegial atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a professional manner with clients & colleagues.
• Excellent client care and focus; ability to assess clients' needs and quickly provide the correct answer, path, troubleshooting, or method for a positive experience
• Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite and Office.
• Must be able to travel between 30%-50% of the time to our locations in the US and Canada.
