Senior Laboratory Assistant Job at The Hospitals of Providence - Memorial Campus
Certified Lab Assistant prepares solutions, labels tubes and specimen containers, collects specimens and performs simple tests under supervision.
Certified Lab Assistant erforms routine technical and clerical functions.
May operate simple lab equipment under supervision.
Certified Lab Assistant processes anatomic pathology and cytology specimens.
Certified Lab Assistant obtains blood specimens for all age groups serviced.
Assists pathologists as needed.
Certified Lab Assistant uses, maintains and cleans laboratory equipment and uses protective equipment to protect form exposure to chemical, radiation and infectious hazards.
Must be knowledgeable of emergency procedures.
Performs phlebotomist duties as assigned.
Qualifications
EducationRequired: High school diploma or equivalent required.
Preferred: Completion of phlebotomy program
Required: Ability to complete blood draws independently within six-weeks of hire
Preferred: 6 months of laboratory experience
