Senior Mechanic Job at Arcosa
ARCOSA Aggregates is searching for a Heavy Equipment Mechanic for our Little River Academy plant. In this role you will support a positive safety culture within a dredge environment that is regulated by MSHA safety standards. As a Mechanic, you will perform preventative maintenance and minor repairs in a mining environment.
Arcosa Aggregates is a leading producer and distributor in the Western and Southwestern U.S. natural aggregates, including crushed stone, sand and gravel, asphalt rock, and other products.
What you'll do:
- Must follow all Safety Rules and Procedures and applicable government regulations
- Performs preventative maintenance and minor repairs on rolling stock and heavy equipment (e.g., Oil changes, fueling, greasing, power washing)
- Be able to perform multiple tasks and use your problem-solving skills
- Be able to communicate with your supervisors, drivers and to function as a team member
What you'll need:
- Prompt, regular and predictable attendance
- The ability to stand, stoop, bend, lift, walk, climb stairs, ladders and catwalks up to 60 feet as required.
- The ability to work in a varied outdoor environment (cold, hot, dry, dusty, rainy)
- Knowledge of preventative maintenance or repairs on equipment including experienced in shop mechanics, mechanical operation of equipment and ability to troubleshoot
- This position requires a High School diploma or its equivalent. This position also requires a minimum of 3 years of experience
- Individuals who are currently enrolled in a diesel mechanic program or have recently graduated from a TECH school are welcome to apply.
