Senior Operations Representative JFK Job at Cargolux
TASK RESPONSIBILITIES:
Supervise all operational processes of the station
- By ensuring correct execution of defined tasks and duties and administrative processes and procedures within the station(s)
- By supervising the station including GSA and GHA staff
- By notifying the relevant department of the company about new legal requirements or administration procedures within the station that might have an impact on Cargolux’ operations or activities
- By representing the company in local meeting(s) on request and if required
- By reviewing vendor invoices on operational level
- By implementing and enforcing Cargolux purchasing policy
Ensure safe and reliable completion of all ground operations activities
- By ensuring all activities with regard to safety, security, quality, effectiveness and efficiency of activities foreseen in local and international laws and regulations for the legal representative of Cargolux in the station
- By ensuring that ground processes, as described in CARE manual are performed in accordance with the requirements of the Ground Ops Quality System
- By ensuring that customers’ needs and expectations are understood and met (more specifically, but not limited to dangerous goods, live animals, perishables, off-size cargo ….)
- By assisting the station in any operational related matters
- By monitoring work-processes and supervising Ground Handling Agents, trucking companies and operation staff
- By ensuring compliance regarding safety with the provisions of the CARE manual, the Security Program manual and other corporate document as applicable.
- By arranging and coordinating Road Feeder Services locally, in conjunction with Supplier Management Transportation
- By monitoring service level agreements (SLA) with suppliers
- By addressing any supplier issues to Operations Manager
Guarantee that flight operations activities are performed as per CV processes and procedures by the local Ground OPS representative(s)
- By ensuring that following listed flight operational services, but not limited to: Weather, Notams, Flight plans, Operational flight plans, Crew briefings, Crew callout, Crew transportation (to/from hotel), are provided as per flight operations manual
- By ensuring that all necessary documentation pertaining to a flight are collated and stored for the period required by EASA OPS
To maintain professional and technical knowledge
- By attending regular CV in-house trainings, as required by CARE
- By attending educational workshops
- By reviewing professional publications
- By establishing personal networks
To contribute to team effort
- By assisting in projects delegated by the superior
- By attending departmental meetings
- By acting as back-up for employees and colleagues
People responsibility
- The position holder has no supervisory responsibility for other staff. The position holder has to report to their department heads all deviations from standard work practices, this includes safety and health items.
Budget planning responsibility
- This position holder has no budget planning responsibility. The position holder must report budgetary needs to the department head.
Revenue and cost control
- The position holder is responsible to perform their work in a way that costs are minimised. The position holder has a responsibility for controlling costs generated by their own work.
Strategic responsibility
- The position holder has no strategic planning responsibility; the position holder must however contribute to achieving the goals fixed for the position in the departmental strategy plan or the budget.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS FOR THE POSITION:
- Highschool diploma or equivalent experience.
- 5-7 years of relavent experience.
- Needs to have regulatory and compliance experience (required)
- Strong supervisory experience (preferred)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Willingness to work nights, weekends and holidays (required).
- Knowledge of Cargo Handling Systems is an advantage.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills (required).
- Strong analytical skills with both numerical values and applying policies to practice.
- Intermediate knowledge of MS Office (preferred).
- Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for training and coverage (required).
WORKING CONDITIONS:
- The position holder is based in Jamaica, New York.
- The position demands a regular presence in the office and requires vacation and other absences to be planned so as to avoid conflicting with service needs.
- Occasional domestic and international travel may be required.
- Flexibility may be needed with working hours. The position holder shall keep informed their line manager on their whereabouts and the means of telecommunications through which they will be reachable for urgent company needs, while on company mission.
- The position holder must possess a valid Driver’s License and Passport.
- The position holder must be able to obtain an Airport ID.
- Weekend and holiday duty assignments, either temporary or ongoing, may be required.
