Process Engineer: Buffalo, NY
Full-Time - Direct Hire
This is great opportunity for a process engineer who wants to be part of a dynamic, growing company. You will be responsible for designing and implementing manufacturing and processing systems for the scale-up of this organization's breakthrough process technology. You will be involved furthering the development of production processes as well as troubleshooting current challenges. It is a hands-on role where the right candidate will serve multiple functions:
Process Engineering Scope:
- Identify and support safety/environment initiatives
- Analyze statistical data and reporting to determine the current quality and reliability levels of manufacturing and make data-based recommendations around engineering solutions to increase and optimize both of those areas while increasing efficiency
- Recommend methods to improve utilization of materials, utilities, equipment, and personnel
- Coordinate with outside vendors and internal teams to implement changes
- Troubleshoot equipment while developing long term solutions
- Drive continuous improvement across all processes
- Evaluate current production and testing equipment when formulating any corrective action plans
- Develop documentation and procedures to support all operations functions
- Drive improvements around processes optimizing for cost while maintaining appropriate safety levels
Compensation will be commensurate with experience
Qualifications
- Strong Analytical and Statistical Skills: We are seeking a candidate with strong analytical skill backed by a firm understanding of statistical concepts; PI System, Parcview or Minitab experience is a plus.
- Plants Startup: We seek an individual who has played a role in designing/implementing process changes in production/manufacturing environments. Experience in material processing, physical goods and commodity manufacturing is required. Familiarity with pulp and paper, insulation, or other relevant technologies is a plus.
- Project Management: We are looking for an experienced project manager to drive operational and performance improvements and get things done from day one. We need organizational skills and team leadership skills, combined with sound engineering skills.
- Experience Across a Range of Scales / Industries: The ideal candidate can handle the high paced environment of a disruptive startup but can also understand the mindset of cost-conscious commodity manufacturing operations.
- Hands on Controls Experience: We are seeking a candidate who has been recommending/implementing process engineer changes for 5-10 years. We want a candidate that will get their hands dirty helping us to optimize controls systems in our current plant and have a process for bringing future plants online quickly and efficiently.
- Educational Requirements: BS in Engineering

Pay: $120,000.00 - $150,000.00 per year
