JOB FUNCTION:
The Senior Project Manager independently plans and carries out of significant projects involving complex and highly visible projects (often of a highly confidential nature) to achieve stated objectives. They may be able to take on several different line items at a given time.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Responsible for managing the implementation of large and complex projects
- Provides overall leadership and support to project team members
- Acts as front-line contact on project related activities, issues, and risks.
- Manages the project risks and issues and escalates accordingly
- Interfaces with Business Unit Leaders and Finance to develop ROI, IRR and other financial measures. Manages stakeholders’ communication
- Plans the overall project and monitors the progress; performs daily project management throughout the program life cycle
- Adheres to program and project governance (controls). May have input into defining the project governance (controls)
- Manages the project’s budget and financial performance
- Coordinates the projects and their interdependencies
- Manages and utilizes resources
- Aligns the deliverables (outputs) to the project’s “outcome” with the aid of the business change manager
- Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information technology, business, or related field
- PMP, Prince 2 and/or Agile certification (preferred but not required) with related hands-on delivery experience.
- More than five years of project management experience working on project and portfolio management Tools (Visio, MS Project, Clarity, etc.)
- Excellent project management and team leadership skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills Able to clearly communicate technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences, with senior stakeholder reporting and escalation experience.
- Excellent facilitation, collaboration, negotiation, and presentation skills Ability to anticipate risks and devise solutions in the moment.
- Focused and versatile team player who is comfortable under pressure, ambiguity, frequent change, or unpredictability.
- Understand current and future business goals and ongoing IT issues to ensure business success. Understanding of software development lifecycles (i.e. Agile, SCRUM, Waterfall, Iterative) In depth understanding of project management concepts.
