In this exciting role as a Quality Technician II, you will have the opportunity to work within the quality function within the Transcatheter Mitral Valve Replacement (TMVR) business in Santa Ana, CA. We are pioneering the first transcatheter mitral valve solution for Medtronic and this exciting new aspect of the Structural Heart business is focused on clinically viable solutions that improve efficiency of procedures and deliver successful patient outcomes.
The Structural Heart and Aortic integrated operating unit offer minimally invasive approaches to restore proper structure and function of the heart and the aorta. We focus on the transcatheter replacement or repair of the four heart valves—aortic, pulmonic, mitral, tricuspid—and the placement of stent grafts to treat aneurysms and dissections of the body’s largest artery, the aorta.

A Day in the Life
Responsibilities of the role may include, but are not limited to the following:
- Performs analyses, inspection, and tests of raw materials, packaging materials, quantitative assays on samples, and/or finished products from manufacturing, to ensure quality standards and compliance to customer and regulatory requirements, and tolerance specifications for the chemical or physical property.
- Performs a variety of qualitative tests or qualitative assays on samples, and to aid in maintenance and certification of test instruments and apparatus to ensure compliance.
- Performs required inspections, checks, analysis, and documentation of studies/build plan.
- Work closely with Engineering to develop and improve Receiving/Inspection process of new parts or commodities.
- Complete inspections using the Micro Vu vision system.
- Complete inspections using the Instron Tensile equipment.
- The inspector is also required to interact with a computer and communicate with peers and co-workers.
- Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.
- Reviews production records for conformance to procedures.
- Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged, or tested product.
Must Have – Minimum Requirements

- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum of 2 years of relevant quality / testing / inspection experience and may require advanced knowledge within a specific discipline typically gained through extensive work experience and/or education.
Nice to Have:
- Medical Device Industry experience.
- Manufacturing and/or Quality experience working in a regulated industry.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications (Word, Excel, Access, and PowerPoint) and Windows OS.
- Strong math and physics background.
- Familiar with these regulations: FDA 21 CFR Part 820 cGMP, ISO 13485, ISO 10012, and ISO 17025.
- Excellent customer service skills.
- Knowledge of lean and continuous improvement methodologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work effectively within team and across function
- Familiar with specification usage.
