Job Description:

The Senior Systems Engineer understands the overall team’s responsibilities and has the capability to think long term and big picture. This individual provides top quality services and solutions to our clients and maintains a high level of client satisfaction. The Senior Systems Engineer will perform multiple IT related functions for clients in various settings. This individual may assist management in setting the overall direction, sets a positive example for other team members, and helps ensure the team is following the proper process and procedures.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A BA/BS degree with 2 years of experience and/or an Associate degree with 4 or more years’ experience is preferred.

• Managed IT services experience is highly desired (1-2 years or more preferred).

• The Network Systems Engineer will be customer-oriented, well organized, and possess good communication and problem-solving skills.

• A good communicator and a person who can manage time and multiple projects well especially when a client needs strong guidance.

Essential Job Functions:

• Architecting and Implementing network solutions and support client network and security infrastructure.

• Designing, installing, analyzing, troubleshooting and maintaining of networks and systems for the organization and customers.

• Provide technical support to end-users regarding hardware and application issues.

• Architecting or assisting in designing effective quality solutions to meet customers’ needs.

• Working with clients’ server infrastructure environment to install DC and/or member servers, associated application support and maintenance.

• Proficient with Virtualization technologies is required to design, implement, integrate and support virtual server infrastructure environments.

• Develop new strategies and IT procedures to increase efficiency, enhance workflow and improve customer satisfaction.

• Proactively troubleshoot networks, systems and applications to identify and correct deficiencies.

• Support internal Direct Companies users with the office networks and system infrastructure.

• Accurately maintain documentation and comply with service administrative procedures, including service tickets and time entries.

• Becoming a key contributor or expert with Direct Technologies’ internal tools.

• Assisting with dispatching/ticketing as needed.

• Perform all other duties as assigned.

Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

• Manage time & tasks efficiently and effectively.

• Provide good problem-solving skills and customer service.

• Develop and create visual and written documentation, diagramming topology.

• Experience with Enterprise security applications (Anti-Virus, Anti Malware, etc.).

• Experience in SAN technologies.

• Experience with IP telephony phone solutions and technologies.

• Strong in all the most common and popular networking technologies.

• Participate in 24/7 on-call rotation.
