The Anaheim Engineering team is a group of traffic and technology professionals with diverse domain knowledge and a shared passion to deliver innovative products and services for the traffic/transportation industry. The role of the Senior Traffic Engineer is to create and enforce specifications, processes, and methods to improve the development and testing of Econolite’s Controller and Detection products and related services and prevent deficiencies in these offerings. The Senior Traffic Engineer is responsible for helping make decisions on the release readiness of Controller and Detection products and related software releases.
DUTIES:
- Provide technical input to software development and product design, based upon traffic engineering concepts and field deployment practices
- Establish and maintain traffic/transportation standards and methodologies within the engineering department
- Create and execute test plans and test cases for all software/firmware for Controller and Detection products
- Perform risk analysis and define test efforts based on risk
- Assist software development teams with software and design-level validation for traffic-related product features
- Collaborate with software development teams on the improvement of and adherence to software development processes
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATIONS:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license desired; PTOE certification a strong plus
- 8+ years of experience in traffic engineering or ITS engineering
- Fluency in the concepts presented in the Signal Timing Manual, MUTCD, and NTCIP
- Experience working with live traffic signal equipment (cabinets/controllers/detectors), software development, and network communications technologies is highly desirable
- Basic Python programming fundamentals and basic shell scripting skills a definite plus
- Ability to think analytically and solve complex problems
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills (public speaking and presentation skills)
COMPENSATION:
The base salary range for this full-time position is $89,234.00 - $120,000.00 per year plus benefits. Salary ranges are determined by various factors, including role, experience, and location. The salary range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for this position. Within the range, actual individual compensation is determined by various factors, including location, job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
