The California Yacht Club is seeking for Full-Time, Part-Time and On-Call Servers. This position contributes to the success of the California Yacht Club (“Club”) by creating positive experiences for every customer, guest, and co-worker in providing expedient and attentive food and beverage service.

KEY RESULTS & TASKS

• Create a warm and welcoming event environment; welcome guest warmly and by name if they are Club members.
• Serve Banquet food and beverages as directed by Banquet Captains and supervisors.
• Bell well versed on event catering menu and answer guests questions accurately in a warm and friendly demeanor.
• Use effective suggestive sales skills to present beverage options when event includes a cash bars .
• Maintain accurate knowledge of current Club events and answer members/guests questions accurately and in an inviting manner.
• Be well versed in the Club's history; promote club to guests when appropriate.
• Report event host and guests special requests and issues immediately to supervisor.
• Attend to the needs of all guests, including those beyond your assigned station when the station in unattended.
• Assist restaurant servers as requested by supervisor.

EDUCATION, LICENSES, CERTIFICATION, AND/OR ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Required: Reliable attendance is a Must; Banquet events are mainly on Wednesday through Sunday.
• Required: Full time employees must be able to work at least 30 hours and up to 40 hours per week with occassional OT
• Required: Part-Time employees must be available to work at least 2 days a week and 3 to 5 hour shifts.
• Required: On-Call employees are able to select shifts each week based on their availability; shifts will be offered based on business need; employee is required to work at least 5 shifts per month; shifts may be 2 to 8 hours.
• Required: A minimum of 1 year experience in same or similar position in a banquet setting in a restaurant, private club or hotel
• Required: Must be at least 18 years old
• Required: Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
• Required: Ability to elicit and accept constructive feedback.
• Required: Ability and willingness to work over time as needed.

• Sick Pay
