We are currently looking for a Service Technician Assistant to join our growing team! The Service Technician Assistant is responsible to work with a Lead Service Technician to assist with repairs and maintenance while learning the trade. This position requires a valid driver’s license with a driving record that meets company insurance standards for insurability and flexibility to travel out of town as needed depending on job location.

Essential Responsibilities: Other duties may be assigned.

  • Works with a Service Technician or Lead Service Technician to complete service maintenance and emergency calls as needed per assigned schedule.
  • Follows the Service procedures and processes throughout their workday to complete jobs as needed. Includes completing paperwork legibly and completely, communicating clearly and effectively with both customers and office staff, maintaining a professional demeanor when meeting with customers, etc.
  • Works as a team to maintain and complete the proper technical repairs, including maintaining a steady productivity, using proper roofing materials and applications.
  • Completes work for roof repairs as per the direction of the Service Technician/ Lead Service Technician and scope of work provided within the timeline given for each project. Ensures that specifications and manufactures installation recommendations are being followed; completes jobs as efficient as possible (within budget) with the highest quality of craftsmanship.
  • Effectively communicates with customers and/or office (Property Managers, Manufactures, Business Owners and Managers, etc.) regarding project timelines and updates on project status. This includes assisting with paperwork as needed.
  • Ensures productivity, quality and safety while in the field.
  • Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety practices.
  • Assists Service Technician/ or Lead Service Technician with maintaining the proper truck inventory.
  • Performs misc. job-related duties as assigned.
  • Work involves considerable exposure to unusual elements, such as extreme temperatures, dirt, dust and/or loud noises.
  • Work environment involves some exposure to hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.
  • Assists with developing field processes and procedures to improve production and quality in the field.

Qualifications:

  • Education and/or Experience: High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Language Skills: Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Mathematical Skills: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
  • Reasoning Ability: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of, Internet software, Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
