POSITION: Shift Operator, Monitoring & Diagnostics

JOB SUMMARY
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

• Monitor Gas Turbine and Axillary plant equipment as part of a 24-hour 7-day per week global monitoring and Diagnostic center to determine root causes and corrective actions for a variety of operational issues
• Work with various customer base plant operations and maintenance to troubleshoot problems and diagnose probable cause
• Leverage in house GT experts (controls, Performance, Design, etc.) for assistance as required
• Utilize Process Information (PI)tools for monitoring, analysis and graphical representation of gas turbine, steam turbine and HRSG operations
• Build databases of known field issues and their indicators for reference during troubleshooting
• Clearly communicate corrective actions to customers via e-mails and/or phone calls
• U.S and international travel may be required (up to 20%)
• Required to carry a company provided cell phone and be available to respond during working and non-working hours
• Facilitate and actively work to ensure all quality documentation is correct, complete and timely and recorded as appropriate
• Works overtime and rotation al shifts
• Other duties as Assigned

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
Education & Training

High School Diploma or GED equivalent and a 2-uear degree from technical;/vocational school, military or service equivalent
Must complete EHS assigned regulatory training for work area as described by PSM’s EHS Training Matrix

Skill/Experience

• 2+ yeas of working power plant environment as a control room operator (“A” operator) or comparable position
• 2+ years of power plant operations experience, preferably heavy frame combustion turbine background
• Working experience with GT control systems (GE, MSI and/or Siemens) and knowledge of general GT control philosophy a plus
• Ability to read and interpret Piping and Instrument Diagrams (P&ID)
• Strong mechanical aptitude and basic understanding of chemistry, physics, electricity and mathematics
• Experience with Industrial GT general architecture and design, start up and commissioning experience ins preferred
• Knowledge of GT support systems and associated supervisory instrument limits and alarms levels
• Strong computer skills including experience working with spreadsheets, databases, Process Information (PI and word processing software
• Multilingual candidates a plus
