Shop Janitor Position Purpose
The Shop Janitor will keep the entire location in clean and orderly condition by performing a combination of duties, including but not limited to sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, and vacuuming hallways, stairs, and office spaces.
Shop Janitor Essential Functions
- Keep the entire location in clean and orderly condition
- Perform any combination of the following duties: sweeping, mopping, scrubbing; vacuuming hallways and stairs; and cleaning office spaces and break rooms
- Use the machinery to clean floors, dust the entire facility, and maintain multiple bathrooms and kitchen
- Empty all trash containers
- Clean restrooms daily and routinely disinfect all surfaces. Deep clean from top to bottom twice a week - includes using best practices in industrial hygiene maintenance and cleaning
- Wash internal windows consistently
- Clean halls throughout the day
- Clean sidewalks/parking lot throughout the day
- Dust cubicles high and low
- Dust offices high and low
- Strip and wax floors
- Other duties as assigned
Shop Janitor Minimum Qualifications
- Six (6) months of previous janitorial or custodial experience
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Valid driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to operate floor buffers
- Ability to follow instructions and work independently
- Ability to operate a vacuum cleaner
- Familiarity/knowledge of industrial hygiene practices
- Positive attitude, can-do mentality, and eagerness to improve
- Diligent work ethic and dedicated approach to performing duties
