Where the Chemistry Happens

As a chemicals supplier to almost all industries, BASF will establish a standalone subsidiary dedicated to its Mobile Emissions Catalysts, Precious Metals Trading, Recycling, and related Products and Services business. The new group is referred to as BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions and is wholly owned by BASF. BASF Environmental Catalyst and Metal Solutions will operate globally in over 15 countries and comprise of approximately 20 production sites and over 4,000 employees.

Our team is searching for Site Buyers to provide professional Procurement expertise to the ECMS business. Site Buyers will work at our Seneca, SC and Huntsville, AL sites where executing buying needs according to the EMCA Procurement Guidelines in cooperation with the Procurement and business unit teams.

As a Site Buyer, you create chemistry by…

Contributing to ECMS, BU and site performance, drive EBIT and additional value contribution, and provide transparency on progress, opportunities, blocks etc. Actively engage with business partners to promote ECMS objectives, manage & challenge requirements as a partner and deliver site needs, Procurement and BU targets. Providing single point of contact/support for all site Procurement needs (end to end) as site buyer providing bridge to wider Procurement organization and functional experts Managing suppliers (negotiations, innovation, development, meetings, sourcing, assessment) as well as market intelligence. Ensure PR’s are appropriately managed through the P2P process in a prompt and efficient manner, supporting /training requisitioners in effective system usage. Work with ECMS P2P Bex functional process experts to maintain global SAP system functionality & performance and maintain local SAP data / contracts etc. and other systems & processes, as may be required.

Qualifications - BASF recognizes institutions of Higher Education which are accredited by the Council for Higher Education Accreditation or equivalent

Your formula for success…

Minimum Bachelor’s degree preferred Experience in related business, procurement, purchasing, and/or contract management Experience of SAP R3 or S4 is beneficial Excellent administration skills gained within a business environment Demonstrable workload management, prioritization & multi-tasking skills Good interpersonal skills with the ability to interact with people at all levels both within and outside the company Ability to understand our customer needs and adapt common procedures along with taking responsibility and ownership Familiar with Excel, Word, Power Point
