The Raritan Bay Area YMCA is currently accepting applications / resumes for a part time Site Coordinator for our B3 Middle School Afterschool Program. The B3 Program is a grant-funded program serving students attending 5th through 9th grades at 3 sites within Perth Amboy, NJ and is funded by the Nita M. Lowey 21st Century Program.

The Raritan Bay Area YMCA has served the ever-evolving needs of our community since 1912. We are located just 5 miles west of New York City in the beautiful Waterfront City of Perth Amboy. The YMCA is dedicated to building strong kids, strong families, and strong communities through programs that develop the values of caring, honesty, respect, responsibility, and faith. We devotedly serve over 5,000 community participants and families in our community building initiatives.

The Site Coordinator is responsible for the quality; delivery; and proper organization of YMCA activities provided to all participants and the community. The Site Coordinator will assure that the afterschool program provides a safe environment by verifying that all safety procedures are being met; and by assuring the program is in compliance with state licensing at all times. The Site Coordinator also engages in and promotes the YMCA mission through the core values: Honesty, Caring, Responsibility, Respect and Faith.

Hours: Part Time; Monday thru Friday; 2:40pm to 5:40pm.

Essential Duties Include:

  • Responsible for assisting staff in the development and implementation of clubs/lesson plans for program participants.
  • Ensures program / staff is adhering to NJDOE requirements and regulations.
  • Lead recruitment and retention efforts at school site.
  • Assist in organizing, scheduling; and/or participate in program registration events and initiatives.
  • Supervise, train, coach, and assist in the development of program staff and volunteers.
Requirements:
  • Be at least 21yrs. of age.
  • Bachelor's degree; 2 to 4 years of related experience; or proven performance working in an education based program.
  • Knowledge of teamwork, parent involvement, and problem solving.
  • Ability to work afterschool hours; reliable; punctual.
  • Ability to supervise, negotiate and manage interactions with employees, coworkers, department heads, and vendors as needed.
