Responsibilities Include:

• This is a critical role with a wide range of responsibilities, as part of a team that needs to:
• Plan and design, build, measure, monitor and improve our production infrastructure and operational processes
• Collaborate with ProdOps peers and partner with DevOps and Observability teams to build and maintain all cloud infrastructure with a focus on reliability, efficiency, scalability
• and costs
• Engage and embed with development, engineering, and STE (Software Test Engineering) teams to prepare and support all production releases and upgrades
• Work with Engineering and Operations teams to resolve any active incidents as well as proactively mitigate future platform issues
• Automate as much as possible using existing and new code
• Leverage our observability platforms to detect variance/outliers in our key systems and work with engineering teams and the NOC team to proactively avoid incidents and
• reduce MTBF and MTTR
• Define SLIs and SLOs with development and product teams
• Help review and improve existing processes and operational runbooks for the NOC team with a focus on increasing the reliability of our platform
• Assist in on-call schedules and off-hours triage rotation where needed

Qualities / Experience We’re Seeking:

• We believe the right individual will have the following skills and experience in order to be
• successful in the role:
• Effective, clear communicator, able to articulate across all levels of the organization
• Equally comfortable working at the command line in shell or in a GUI
• Strong desire and focus to write infrastructure as code, automating everything possible using Terraform, Python, and more
• 3+ years of experience as part of a hands-on production facing ops/devops/SRE team running on AWS infrastructure at significant scale using some combination of ECS, EKS,
• EC2, VPC, S3, Lambda, Cloudwatch
• 3+ years of experience with a visibility/observability platform like Datadog, SignalFX, Prometheus, or similar
• 2+ years of experience with configuration management tools such as Terraform (preferred), Cloudformation, Ansible, Chef, or Puppet
• 3+ years of DevOps/InfraOps experience for large scale systems.
• Experience with DNS, SSH, HTTP, TCP/IP and other common network protocols

Nice to have:

• Production experience with Kubernetes and MongoDB
• Production experience with Istio
• Golang
• OpenTelemetry

Job Types: Full-time, Contract

Salary: $80.00 - $90.00 per hour
