Work hours - Part-time role (2-3 days/week).

We are looking for a Site Safety Inspector. This is Not a remote position; the location will be at Morgan State University in Baltimore, MD. This is a part-time role (2-3 days/week). Work days can vary depending on the candidate's availability.

We have a 5-year agreement with Morgan State University to guarantee energy savings, such as building envelope, water conservation, electrical saving, etc.

• The candidate will be involved with multiple projects on campus.
• The candidate will be expected to work 1 to 3 days per week to inspect construction sites, verify safe site conditions, provide documentation of safety inspections, document, and correct safety issues or concerns, and stop work due to unsafe conditions.
• Reports will be directed and addressed to the Site Construction Manager.
• Respond to employee/contractor complaints or concerns by investigating and providing a solution to either management and/or employees/contractors.
• Implement a Personal Protective Equipment Program and maintain proper inventory.
• Ensure completion of site requirements for administrative reports, forms, postings, injury files, and worker's compensation claims.
• Establish or update operating procedures to include safety or environmental issues while providing for the health and welfare of employees/contractors.
• Provide documentation or information to customers in order to meet or exceed their expectations.
• Minimize employee/contractor risks or hazards through training & job site inspections including proper documentation of inspection.
• Be familiar with local and federal OSHA standards and provide guidance or requested information to employees.

Requirements:

• A state safety license is preferred
• EM385 Knowledge is not required but is a plus.
• A minimum of OSHA 30 Certification required OR Candidate must be a certified safety inspector, must have a college degree, and must have 5 years of experience in construction safety.
• Strong verbal and written skills
• Prior experience in similar roles is required.

Salary: $30.00 - $35.00 per hour
