GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the Repair Shop. Provide maintenance, adjustments, repairs and testing on our rental and customer’s personal equipment. Must also be able to perform general administration duties including, opening and closing, cash handling and machinery maintenance.
This is Seasonal Full Time or Part Time positions. Position will begin late November/early December and will end mid-March
SPECIAL JOB REQUIREMENTS/QUALIFICATIONS:
Qualified candidates will be required to obtain certification from all major binding companies. The ability to handle a high volume day and heavy workload. Must have the knowledge and communication skills to answer questions and provide customers with information on all aspects of Alpine Equipment to include skis, boots, bindings and snowboards. Must be able to work weekends, holidays and evenings. Prior knowledge of ski or resort industries is a plus. Must be 16 years or older.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Candidates must be able to stand for 8-10 hours, and able to lift up to 30 pounds.
SPECIFIC DUTIES/RESPONSIBLITIES
- Represent Wintergreen Resort in a positive, professional manner.
- Ability to operate a POS system, along with making daily deposits and being responsible for a daily bank
- Responsible for opening and closing duties of the repair shop.
- Responsible for mounting, adjusting, testing, grinding, p-texing, sharpening and waxing rental fleet as well as guest’s skis and snowboards.
- Responsible for maintaining shop machinery
- Assist with repair of rental equipment
- Assist with mounting new rental skis
- Assist with pre-season testing of rental equipment.
- Responsible for accurately testing and documenting equipment involved in incidents
- Adhere to department uniform and grooming standards for self and direct reports.
- Report to work on-time for all scheduled shifts
- Must follow policies and procedures outlined in the Wintergreen Handbook.
- Must be able to take on additional assignments and tasks assigned by the manager
