Academy of Art University is seeking a motivated Social Media Associate who will work closely with the Vice President of Brand Storytelling & Schools of Entertainment to plan, research, develop, and publish content; monitor social channels; and report on key indicators across the Universities social media platforms, including Twitter, Facebook, Instagram, TikTok, LinkedIn, and others. This is a hybrid position and candidates must be able to frequently attend events in San Francisco.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain close ties with multiple departments assigned to "cover." Including but not limited to meeting with them weekly or bi-weekly based on department desires. Creating department specific posts on the department specific social media, creating collaborative social media posts.
Develop, write and post copy for use in social media activity.
Develop, create, shoot, prepare and/or manage the development, creation, preparation of still-image assets for use in social media activity.
Develop, create, prepare, shoot, edit, score, caption and manage the development, creation, preparation, editing, scoring and captioning of moving-image (video) assets for use in social media activity.
Collaborate with members of various University teams including Online, Education, Marketing, Events, Student Life and the Office of the President.
Implement the editorial standards established by Social Media leadership in support of staying “on message” across scheduled and ad-hoc activity
Respond to and route Direct Messages from various social media platforms and collaborate with the members of relevant departments (i.e. Customer Service Department) to ensure timely communication.
Monitor performance data through Sprout Social and other platforms. Create and present reports as asked for to the Vice President of Brand Storytelling
Participate in the instigation, collection, curation, and promotion of department, student, faculty contributed assets (text, still-image, moving-image, etc.) asset collection.
Conduct A/B test experiments to see what strategies deliver results.
Collaborate with the content team to conduct interviews when necessary, and to create posts, news stories, and articles about students, alumni, and faculty
Research and stay on top of all social media trends. Report new trends and observations in weekly meetings and to the Vice President of Brand Storytelling.
Perform other creative, editorial and posting functions as directed by the Vice President of Brand Storytelling & Schools of Entertainment.
Requirements:
Must have a collaborative spirit and be a proactive self-starter with great organizational skills.
Degree in Marketing/PR/Communications preferred.
At least three years of professional experience in a related role. Experience with social media and content marketing is required.
Knowledge of online content strategy and creation.
Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills. Must be able to edit and proofread copy as needed.
Excellent research skills. Must be able to source images and other content and understand keyword research.
Excellent time-management and organizational skills.
Compensation: $25.00 per hour
