POSITION TITLE: Social Media Specialist


Position Purpose:
The Social Media Specialist administers the global social media strategy for all GUESS Originals social media channels including but not limited to Instagram, TikTok, and YouTube.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

  • Owner of the GUESS Originals Instagram Calendar which includes programming, copywriting, asset requests, and approvals
  • Work in tandem with Content Producer and Brand Partnerships Marketing Graphic Designer on the overall Creative Direction for the brand on Social Media; delivering innovative, brand elevating content and new ideas
  • Manage all social content deliverables, including management of projects through tools such as Box and Google Drive and share with respective teams such as Paid Social, Retail Partners, and International Partners
  • Create content on set for Photoshoots, Campaigns, and Events to be repurposed on owned social media accounts
  • Dedicated to staying at the cutting edge of content, creativity, and social media trends
  • Works directly with the GUESS Originals brand leads under Brand Partnerships to ensure creative vision is met, messaging is cohesive, and brand voice is consistent
  • Work in tandem with the Influencer Manager to ensure all content needs are met, assist with influencer research, give recommendations and analyze success of paid campaigns
  • Responsible for channel growth and optimizing content based upon performance and impact within the channels; ensuring growth strategy is being implemented
  • Weekly and Monthly Reporting to make recommendations on resource allocation and programmatic shifts while continually finding ways to improve on those metrics through testing and new initiatives
  • Work in tandem with Social Media Assistant to strategize and create content for the GUESS Originals TikTok
  • Work in tandem with the Video Team for GUESS Originals-related series on YouTube
  • Implement the content strategy, coordinating with cross-functional teams to ensure its effectiveness and encouraging adoption of relevant social media techniques
  • Build relationships with paid creators and provide posting guidelines that align with our overall marketing strategy and product pushes

Bachelor's Degree

2-4 Years


NATURE OF EXPERIENCE:

  • 2-4 years of managing an Instagram account for a fashion brand / retailer / e-commerce / or consumer brand including owning the calendar, copywriting, and content creation
  • Demonstrated experience in channel growth and reaching a new audience
  • Influencer Paid Partnerships, events / activations, and photoshoots
  • Strong knowledge of social media best practices, functions, and industry trends
  • Demonstrated experience aligning cross-functional teams toward common objectives
  • Identify and resolve programming problems with a positive attitude
  • Experience managing junior team members

SKILLS:

  • Passionate about fashion, art, social media, and making an impact with creative content
  • Proficient in creating social first content
  • Strong collaboration and relationship-building skills; ability to work with a variety of people in various disciplines
  • Excellent technical skills: MS Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Google Drive
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Strong organizational skills, detail-oriented; time management skills, ability to juggle priorities
  • Creative mindset with the ability to follow brand criteria in a corporate setting
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet tight deadlines
  • Self-motivated and takes initiative
  • Common sense is a must
  • Bonus if proficient in Adobe Suite: Photoshop, After Effects, Lightroom, Indesign, etc.
