Position Summary


The Social Responsibility Program Coordinator will help manage the League's Employee Volunteer and Mentorship programs as well as serving an integral role in supporting the WNBA and NBA's community and philanthropic efforts by creating, implementing and amplifying league and team driven programming. Position will be based in the NBA's New York office and will include travel.


Major Responsibility


  • Leading community-related elements in collaboration with the partnership activators.
  • Manage and track team and player community-related efforts for both the WNBA and NBA.
  • Lead and create Employee Volunteer events both in-person and virtually.
  • Assist and lead in execution of key WNBA tentpole social responsibility community programs such as WNBA Cares Community Assist Award.
  • Manage the NBA League Offices mentorship programs.
  • Responsible for supporting and tracking inventory for community merchandise and donations.
  • Assist in the management and reconciliation of shared resources across the Social Responsibility department.
  • Support community ticket allocations and distributions where appropriate.
  • Develop and foster meaningful relationships with community stakeholders both in the tri-state area and nationally.
  • Research best practices across teams and players as well as across the sport and social impact industry at large.


Required Skills/Knowledge


  • Excellent project management, organizational, people and writing skills.
  • Knowledgeable in engaging multiple stakeholders, and community organizations.
  • Ability to think creatively and communicate clearly, professionally and persuasively (both verbally and in written form).
  • Strong interpersonal skills, excellent at building and maintaining professional relationships.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to create, market and manage in-person, hybrid and virtual events.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects, prioritize effectively, exercise flexibility as needed, communicate changes/updates to colleagues in a timely manner.
  • Experience Needed Minimum of 1-3 years of experience working with community program management (preferably in a non-profit or professional sports setting).
  • Previous experience with event management.

Salary Range


  • $60,000 to $74,500
