About DOROT
DOROT, which means “generations” in Hebrew, was founded in 1976. We provide a dynamic partnership of seniors, volunteers, and professionals dedicated to enhancing the lives of older adults to help them live independently as valued members of the community. Our wide array of programs – conducted on-site, in the home and in the community – are designed to combat loneliness and social isolation. Compassionate care and a commitment to excellence are hallmarks of our programs and staff. DOROT is committed to the ongoing expansion of our diversity, equity and inclusion initiatives in our organizational culture, the older adult communities we serve and the programs we offer. We welcome a wide array of voices to join our staff and influence our work.
Position Summary
DOROT Westchester’s Social Workers provide case assistance and support to a broad spectrum of active as well as isolated and homebound seniors across Westchester County. This includes conducting a comprehensive, psychosocial, in-home assessment of new clients and follow-up assessments with ongoing clients. Follow-up assessments are imperative to confirm a client’s ongoing appropriateness for program attendance or need for additional services and are conducted annually for our older adults. Social Workers also participate in, and support DOROT’s intergenerational volunteer programs including skillfully matching volunteers with seniors based on shared interests for regular visits or telephone calls and supporting those matches for both the older adult and volunteer.

- Manage a caseload of older adults, providing ongoing support to both the older adult and volunteer in each match, and conducting annual reassessments of participating adults
- Collect, track, and maintain case assessment and related client interactions using the DOROT online database (Salesforce) and the Westchester County database (Peer Place) as it involves routine home assessment data entry and the review of monthly statistics for internal needs and reports to funders
- Play a role in the analysis of program/project impact, helping to identify gaps and develop recommendations for program improvement
- Provide support to and participate in DOROT’s community-wide intergenerational volunteer programs and on-site events
