We are looking for an experienced Software Architect to serve as the center of architectural expertise on the Developer Experience Team (DevX), reporting directly to the CTO. In this role, you will be responsible for providing architectural guidance to the engineering teams. You will partner closely with engineers, tech leads, and senior stakeholders. Ultimately, helping Brightside Engineering Move Fast and Safe.
What you’ll be doing as Software Architect:
- Provide architectural guidance to engineering teams
- Drive modularizing the monolith (160k LOC, 150 models) using Domain Driven Design
- Account for and assess trade-offs in architecture to achieve necessary quality attributes (security, scalability, reliability, performance, etc)
- Communicate and document designs, implementation plans, and business/data workflow models
Requirements:
- 5 years in an Architect/Principal level position
- Experienced practitioner of Domain Driven Design
- Expert level experience with large Ruby on Rails applications
- Ability to thrive in an agile, 100% remote environment with tight feedback loops and continuous delivery.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to influence engineers, tech leads, and senior stakeholders
Preferred:
- Experience working with or implementing Shopify’s approach to the Modular Monolith using packwerk
- Experience working in a HIPAA or otherwise regulated environment
- Deep experience in React JS/Native, Aptible, Machine Learning, EMR integrations, Change Healthcare, Surescripts
