Working under the direction of the Manager or Senior Team Lead, will be responsible for designing, developing and testing sophisticated software; performing software development to enable machine learning and statistics capabilities such as AutoML in the MATLAB environment; creating and delivering accurate algorithms with easy-to-use interfaces; participating in software development projects from the early design stages and playing a critical role in driving them to delivery; participating in activities which seek to improve the team’s expertise in Machine Learning (ML) and statistics, such as reading journal articles and viewing MOOCs; designing and developing ML and statistics functions written in MATLAB and C++; driving multiple projects, including research, requirements gathering, creating and managing project plans, and designing and delivering the product; and collaborating with the team to refine strategy and define requirements for projects.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education and Experience:

Master’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science, or a closely related field (or foreign education equivalent) and no experience.

Special Requirements:

• Demonstrated expertise programming in MATLAB and C++; and analyzing and debugging a large code base (100K+ lines of code) in MATLAB for accuracy and performance.
• Demonstrated expertise designing and developing mathematical computation algorithms in MATLAB for machine learning models.
• Demonstrated expertise performing root cause analysis for software performance, including identifying performance hotspots and resolving root causes; and in software performance profiling and analysis using MATLAB Profiler.
• Demonstrated expertise applying statistical and numerical methods - linear algebra, probability, and mathematical optimization - and machine learning methods to build statistical tools and machine learning applications.
