NexGen Data Systems is seeking a talented Software Product Designer to join a rapidly growing team. Duties of this position include creating user interface designs for desktop based applications and cloud services for a technical audience. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in all phases of the design process including user research, wire-framing, prototyping, visual design, interaction design, and usability testing.

Roles and Responsibilities:

• In-depth knowledge of Service Design and Design Research.
• The ability to run the research activity across multiple projects .
• Manage both qualitative and quantitative research methodologies and different data sets integration Demonstrable well-rounded work portfolio.
• Proven experience in designing for developers/technical audiences.
• Proven experience designing desktop applications.
• Ability to collect and interpret quantitative and quantitative feedback.
• Activities also include: User interviews, define personas, usability testing, service design, UI/UX Visual design, Pair with PM to prioritize features, pair with PM to establish an Outcome Oriented Product Roadmap. Manage the Backlog and Produce Portfolio, Program, and Team Metrics in the Application Lifecycle Management tool (Atlassian Jira and Confluence), Collaborate with Engineers on Test-driven development, Pair programming, Evolutionary design, Collective code ownership, Retros, Short iterations, CI/CD.

Requirements

Required/Desired Skills:

• 4+ years of experience in product design for technical products.
• 4+ years of UX/UI experience.
• 4+ years’ experience working as a Software Product Designer.
• Comfortable supporting the development of Cloud Services.
• Experience working on a development team and proven experience designing desktop applications.
• Experience improving existing product designs and analyzing working concepts.
• Experience designing concepts and drawings to determine the best product.
• Top Secret clearance or higher preferred.
• 8570 compliance (Active Security and OS certifications)
