Ilum Energy Solutions is a company helping to improve the energy efficiency of homes in the greater San Luis Obispo area. As a Solar Installer, you will work closely with the field team to complete residential and small commercial solar installation projects. Must be able to pass drug test and background check.
You must have at least 1-2 years of solar experience to apply.
Responsibilities include:
- Plan PV system configurations based on customer needs and site conditions
- Installation of roof-mounted solar systems
- Racking and solar array assembly
- Sealing all roof penetrations
- Trenching, concrete work, and equipment assembly
- Ensure that solar layout, conduit and wiring runs, service disconnects, inverter installation, grid interconnection, voltage testing, and all solar installation meets expected quality standards
- Deliver installation documentation in a timely manner
- Responsible for tool management and assigned vehicle
- Perform routine PV system maintenance
- Activate and test PV systems
To be successful in this position, you must be a team leader with the following experience :
- Previous solar installation experience 1-2
- Electrical and/or roofing experience
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to transport materials and equipment to complete assigned job tasks
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Excellent documentation skills
- Professional appearance and client interaction abilities
- Construction-related experience
- Understanding of AC & DC solar installations
- Excellent teamwork skills ability to foster a positive team environment through the collaborative decision making
- Ability to read, understand, and edit electrical and structural plans and interpret field layouts
- Effectively coordinate and communicate with others
