Spanish Language
Digital Content Producer to join the largest news operation in South Texas.
Job Description
KRGV Channel 5 News and KRGV 5.2 Noticias RGV is looking for a Spanish Language Digital Content Producer to report, write and edit news stories for KRGV.com. They also post news and information to Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms in English and Spanish.
We are the largest news operation in South Texas. Our newscast produces 67 hours of news every week in both English and Spanish.
Digital producers are an integral part of the newsroom. They work closely with reporters, photographers, producers, editors and newsroom management throughout the day to coordinate news coverage including live reports during breaking news. Digital producers also work independently, generating story ideas and breaking news on all platforms.
The job requires strong writing skills, knowledge of Associated Press style writing and solid news judgment.
This position is Full Time.
Qualifications
- An associate’s or bachelor’s degree in journalism or at least two years of newsroom experience.
- Familiarity with Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and other social media platforms.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) preferred.
- Video editing skills are a plus.
- Ability to work independently.
