Cohasset Public Schools is looking for a Special Education Substitute Teacher for the Deer Hill Elementary School, Grades 3-5, from approximately January 23, 2023 to the beginning of March. Be responsible for instructional and general duties as indicated by the Building Principal, Supervisors, and the directives of the Superintendent of Schools or his/her designee, Director of Student Services.Be responsible for the daily educational instruction and programming for students as prescribed in the Individual Educational Program (IEP) for identified students at the elementary school level.Demonstrate knowledge and understanding of subject matter and pedagogy it requiresDemonstrate knowledge of the developmental levels of students in the classroom and the different ways students learn.Develop well-structured lessons with challenging, measurable objectives and appropriate student engagement strategies, pacing, sequence, activities, materials, resources, technologies, and grouping.Provide direct support to students in a classroom by delivering instruction and ensuring learning through a variety of co-teaching models and strategies.Collaborate with special education personnel, general education teachers, and administrators to integrate students into general education classrooms and programs.Assist classroom teachers, special subject staff, administrators and other building personnel in the implementation of accommodations and modifications.Supervise the work of ESPs both in special and general education settings.Organize and analyze results from a variety of assessments to determine progress toward intended outcomes and use findings to adjust practice and identify and/or implement appropriate differentiated interventions and enhancements for all studentsMaintain accurate, complete, and correct records as required by law, district policy, and administrative regulations
