About the Position

Goodwin Home Health is currently seeking a full-time Speech Language Pathologist (SLP). In this position, you will work with our dynamic and passionate team at Goodwin Living. As an SLP, you will develop and implement the safe delivery of quality skilled Home Health therapy services to older adults in their homes and in the Rehabilitation department at The View Alexandria. This position provides skilled care throughout Northern Virginia, focusing on the counties of: Arlington, Alexandria, Fairfax, Prince William and Loudoun.

Duties

  • Provide comprehensive communication and swallowing evaluations and treatments, under referral from the attending physician, to overcome specific losses in ability to communicate and swallow due to specific diseases and injury
  • Consult with Director of Home Health, Director of Rehab, as well as therapy and nursing staff after communication and swallowing assessments, on needs for additional services, such as nursing, home health aide, physical therapy, or occupational therapy that may not already be in place
  • Effectively communicate with the referring physician and nursing staff concerning changes in the patient’s condition, and necessary changes to the initial Plan of Care due to such changes.
  • Coordinate treatment with nursing staff, home health aides, physical therapists, and occupational therapists, as necessary
  • Document evaluations, treatment sessions and services provided in the home according to agency protocols and Medicare guidelines, completing all documentation in a timely and effective manner for both communication with other health professionals and billing purposes

Qualifications

  • Active Speech Language Pathology License in the Commonwealth of Virginia
  • Prior home health care and/Rehab experience preferred
  • Dependable Transportation, Current Driver’s License and auto insurance
  • Current CPR

Pay: $43.00 - $48.00 per hour
