Sr. Finance Specialist II Job at Choices CCS
The Sr. Finance Specialist II is responsible for submitting claims to payers by gathering support and documentation needed, based on program contracts. The Sr. Finance Specialist II will also manage the status of claims invoices and denials, identifying opportunities to collect through rebills and alternate payers. Will also support any claims invoice prep and processing by collaboration with clinical staff for efficient and accurate payments. The Sr. Finance Specialist II may manage more complex claims invoicing and billing compared to those processed by Sr. Finance Specialists. This role requires advance familiarity with Choices programs and EHR software. May perform other duties as assigned to support the Finance Department. The incumbent will support and uphold a commitment to racial and ethnic equity and antiracism
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Gathers and maintains support needed to bill payers.
- Manages status of claims invoices and denials through accurate logging of payments received while maintaining current records and balances.
- Adheres to timely filing requirements of payers and collaborates with clinical staff to resolve unbillable claims
- Verifies the accuracy of billing information through reconciliation to EHR system.
- Corresponds with Choices Care Coordinators to determine validity of authorizations.
- Assists accounting and finance staff with monthly invoice documentation, needed for monthly general ledger reporting.
- Serves as a back-up to other Finance personnel or may act as subject matter experts for items that cannot be addressed by Finance Specialists.
- Provides customer support to Choices’ providers and internal partners who are utilizing Choices EHR system.
- Willingly completes other duties as assigned to meet the strategic and financial objectives of Choices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in business related studies, or five years of experience directly related to position duties.
- Strong customer service skills
- Highly organized and detail oriented.
- Knowledge of Medicaid billing is desired.
- Access to reliable transportation. If driving an automobile while on company business, must possess a valid driver’s license in state of residence and auto insurance.

- Effectively communicate to various internal and external audiences in both person and through various electronic media.
- Manage time and work effectively with minimal supervision.
