Job Summary/Purpose:
The Senior Manager, Inventory Management is an enterprise wide position within the Warehousing, Inventory, and Logistics (WIL) organization that provides strategic leadership for all inventory functions within Entergy’s operations and across the company’s geographical footprint. The position reports to the Director, Warehousing, Inventory, and Logistics (WIL) and is a key member of the Director’s leadership team.

This role is accountable for the development, deployment and delivery of the Inventory Management strategy in support of WIL and Supply Chain, and is responsible for providing safety, strategic, financial, and operational leadership within the WIL network. A critical aspect of this role is to transform the Inventory Management function at Entergy from a tactical operation to a strategically focused organization. It ensures value delivery to internal customers for a safe, efficient and effective physical supply chain including execution of inventory policies and procedures. It provides strategic analyses to support the Director’s activities on inventory management in terms of cost and risk and planning efficient investment for the future to meet business requirements.

The position leads a staff of around 6 individual contributors to operate and optimize the company’s inventory management operations across approximately $1 billion of inventory for 750,000 category IDs. The transaction volume for the WIL organization is ~500,000 transactions per year.

Key interfaces for this position are internal business customers such as Tax, Finance, Risk Management, Human Resources and Legal, and external suppliers. Within the Entergy Supply Chain organization, common interfaces for this role are Procurement Operations, Category Management, Capital Projects & Decommissioning and Warehousing and inventory Management.

Job Duties/Responsibilities:
Safety/Human Performance:
Ensure the Team always puts safety first. Actively promote strong safety behaviors, utilizing key tools such as Close Call /Good Catch in addition to proactive field visits to review standards and behaviors. Monitoring and influencing Suppliers to proactively identify any safety concerns.
Work Processes:
Develop planning values, maintain supply chain master data such as supply lead times and integrated quality management system, ensure that the team is focused on providing value to the business through proper inventory leveling and accuracy, while creating commercial opportunities.
Value Creation:
Support the executive team in developing strategic and operating plans to ensure that the company has the appropriate resources to support current business and projected growth.
Partnership/Relationships:
Build and maintain positive working relationships with business units internally and externally.
Performance:
Create, implement, and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure and trend supply chain performance from suppliers through to customer fill rates.
Process and Reporting Compliance:
Establish and maintain corporate policies and procedures related to supply chain matters; develop user requirements for necessary tools; provide exception-based reports to facilitate standardization, responsiveness, governance and execution of approved policies and procedures.

Minimum education required of the position:
Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain, Business, Accounting, Engineering, Legal, or other related discipline

Minimum experience required of the position:
12+ years of combined inventory management, warehousing and logistics, or other related supply chain experience OR, in lieu of a degree, minimum 16+ years of inventory management, warehousing and logistics, or other related supply chain experience.

Minimum knowledge, skills and abilities required of the position:
Technical
  • Expert in creating a strategic vision and translating into actionable performance for inventory management;
  • Mastery knowledge through multiple experiences in executing Lean Six Sigma/Continuous Improvement strategies and methodologies;
  • Advanced expertise in the development and execution of standard inventory systems, policies, processes and operations;
  • Deep knowledge in developing materials delivery plans, overseeing the development of an enterprise surplus inventory management program, and inventory documentation processes;
  • Deep knowledge and practice in Demand Planning Management;
  • Advanced negotiation skills and experience reviewing, amending, and negotiating contracts;
  • Advanced skills in financial and budget/expense management;
  • Advanced knowledge of working with suppliers within an expedited environment; managing supplier performance.

Professional
  • Advanced application of the principles of project management to ensure systematic and thorough completion of each assignment, identifying critical pathways and risks to delivery;
  • Deep expertise in the application of commercial skills, including the integration of the key business drivers and impact to Entergy on outcomes;
  • Capability to develop analytical insights to assist the business in decision making;
  • Focused communications skills in dealing with internal and external stakeholder, delivering key messages concisely and supported by relevant information;
  • Extensive knowledge and practice in building relationships and effective networks with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Leadership experience and deep knowledge and application in change management and continuous improvement methods;

Leadership
  • Multiple experiences in leading organizations through strategic transformational change;
  • Ability to communicate effectively with all levels in the organization;
  • Capable of influencing internal and external organizations to achieve corporate goals, including the ability to influence and manage upward as necessary;
  • Proven ability to generate consensus amongst disparate viewpoints

Any certificates, licenses, etc. required of the position:
Preferred: Certification from an industry accreditation organization such as CPSM, APICS, etc.
