The role of the Senior Network and Infrastructure Engineer is to document a vision, roadmap, timeline, and budget for Information Technology Network and Infrastructure across multiple locations. This role requires an enterprise class approach and skill set to design, implement, manage, document, monitor, administer, and troubleshoot a stable, secure, automated, and redundant enterprise networking and infrastructure environments while meeting business goals and objectives, timelines, approved budgets, and the needs of internal employees.

Key Job Responsibilities:

• Document vision for enterprise networking and infrastructure including firewalls, routers, transports, switching, monitoring, storage, servers, virtualization, and disaster recovery / continuity.
• Engineer, design, test, document, and implement existing and new enterprise network and infrastructure hardware, software, and systems.
• Create budgets and manage, communicate, and implement timelines associated with achieving approved projects.
• Manage, monitor, maintain, troubleshoot, support, document, and administer:
• Microsoft Azure and 365 environments at E3 level with Outlook, Exchange, SharePoint, One Drive, Teams, Teams Voice and other M365 tools.
• Server infrastructure consisting of Windows, Linux, and VMWare.
• Server hardware consisting of Cisco, HP, IBM, and Dell servers, NAS, and SAN.
• Software systems consisting of Microsoft Windows Server and Desktop OS, Microsoft Cloud Technologies, Microsoft 365, Active Directory, Group Policy, SharePoint, Exchange, Configuration Manager, Remote Desktops, WSUS, SQL, IPAM, DHCP, , VMWare Enterprise, Virtual Data Protection, Security and Antivirus, and other applications.
• LAN / WAN / Wireless / VPN / Mobile network architecture, devices and security consisting of IBM, Cisco, HP, and Fortinet routers, firewalls, switches, and SAN.
• Co-Location environment with off-site software, hardware, and network architecture.
• Backup and Disaster Recovery processes, procedures and software, hardware, and architecture including off-site location.
• Security process, procedures, hardware, software, and network architecture that promote best practice security while maintaining a functional user base.
• Microsoft 365 toolsets to enable improve process, procedure, and user base expansion.
• Common technical structures and process across all locations while maintaining location specific business needs.
• Solutions to everyday problems with a focus on automation and use SaaS (Software as a Service) and cloud technology.
• Engage with third party experts to scope, quote, plan and deliver on items, as necessary.
• Collect and report on user base feedback of delivered IT tools and systems and prioritize improvements to enable more efficient business function
• Maintain and report on status of projects, timelines, and budget vs actual.
• Work as an IT team member while meeting the role description and goals of the department and the business.
• Monitor performance, trending, provide optimization and act as emergency response to local and remote system, software, and network errors, alerts, and outages.
• Create system, software, and network documentation and user training guides.
• Familiarity with high availability, redundancy, deduplication, replication, and data protection best practices.
• Coordination and monitoring of suppliers providing off-site hosting, datacenters, data circuits, outsourced, and cloud services.
• Create test plans and proof of concepts of new or upgraded solutions.
• Act as technical authority for escalated help desk.

• Knowledge and proficiency in standard manufacturing and business tools, equipment, and systems.
• Knowledge and proficiency of software, hardware, and networking including products as described in the Key Job Responsibilities.
• Ability to apply and articulate a customer value proposition for Avidity Science solutions.
• Ability to interface with customers and contractors.
• Ability to logically troubleshoot, diagnose and resolve problems.
• Ability to express technical concepts effectively, both verbal and in written form for documentation.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology
• 3+ years relevant experience in engineering and administration of systems, software, networking, computer hardware, software applications and electronic communication peripherals or a combination of education and experience.
