Collins Aerospace Vision Systems Electrical Engineering is responsible for all electrical engineering tasks related to the design, analysis, test and certification of aerospace Head-Up Display and Vision Systems products, both in the commercial and military fields.

This Sr. Principal level position is primarily an FPGA verification position with emphasis on Project Leadership. This position requires a strong background in FPGA verification for video, image processing or camera systems, as well as experience working within the framework of a DO-254 development process.

This remote option position requires responsibility for all aspects of the formal verification process, beginning with requirements review up and through the certification of the product. As the FPGA verification lead, this position will provide technical leadership to a team of FPGA verification engineers, perform Cost Account Management (CAM) activities (track and report schedule and cost metrics for the team) and report status on assigned tasks to Electrical Engineering leadership. This position will work with little or no supervision.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead a team of engineers in the design of formal verification testbenches for FPGAs for commercial and military Head Up Displays, Helmet Mounted Displays, and Avionics Vision Systems

  • Define verification test approach and develop simulation framework

  • Document simulation procedures, and verification results

  • Review requirements, conceptual design, trade off studies, and design implementation

  • Perform for credit testing

  • Perform functional tests and design verification tests

  • Present FPGA for FAA SOI Audits per DO-254

  • Track and report Earned Value metrics to Engineering Leadership

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree and 10 years of prior relevant experience OR

  • Advanced Degree in a related field and minimum 7 years experience OR

  • In absence of a degree, 14 years of relevant experience is required Engineering/Other Technical Positions: Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 10 years of prior relevant experience unless prohibited by local laws/regulations

  • US Citizenship or Permanent Resident (Green Card) is required.

  • Advanced skills with formal FPGA Verification in an avionics development environment

  • Experience with Cost Account Management in an Earned Value system

  • Knowledge of FPGA based video processing and camera interfaces

  • Knowledge of DO-254

Preferred Qualifications:

  • VHDL

  • UVM

  • System Verilog

The salary range for this role is 112,000 USD - 236,000 USD; however, Raytheon Technologies considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, education/training, and key skills.
