The role:
Auction.com is looking for extraordinary talent with a passion for quality and speed. As software Engineer, you will strive to deliver quality and timely implementations to satisfy business requirements. Working with a motivated team, you will play important roles in developing our next-generation micro-service based platform, which serves millions of users on our auction.com marketplace.

Responsibilities/Duties:
Design and build GraphQL schema
Develop API implementations based on business requirement
Collaborating with front-end and mobile developers on the integration of elements.
Maintain and support existing backend systems
Participate in team planning and provide input for requirement definitions
Work with QA and SRE to manage timely delivery of features to production
Participate in day-to-day agile development activities

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Excellent knowledge in JavaScript, ES6, and Node.js Frameworks
Demonstrated ability on implementation of API supporting high throughput and high concurrency
Understanding the nature of asynchronous programming and its quirks and workarounds
Excellent knowledge on Database and SQL
Excellent troubleshooting skills for efficient bug fixing and code maintenance
Demonstrated skill in using coding standards and being an active participant in code reviews
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Demonstrated ability working with remote teams
Knowledge of NOSQL databases desired

Required Qualifications:
B.S. Degree or higher in Computer Science or related technical discipline
At least three years' experience as a Node.js backend developer.
Experience in maintaining and migrating legacy systems to newer architecture desired

Preferred Qualifications:
Previous experience developing GraphQL APIs
Understanding of Java microservice applications and ecosystem
Hands-on experience with event-based system processing such as Kafka
Basic understanding of front-end technologies and Full-stack experience is a plus
