St Vincent de Paul has openings for a Store Team Leader at our East store location. Based on the daily needs and goals for the store, the Store Team Leader assists store management with the day-to-day operations in the production and retail areas of thrift store. The Team Leader moves about the store to oversee the shopping experience, tracks team member breaks, and ensures that the production area, sales floor and cashier stations are stocked, organized and clean. They also are required to provide hands-on assistance in all functions of the store and model expected performance as needed. The Store Team Leader will be responsible for opening or closing stores when Managers are unavailable and have the ability to work in other Green Bay locations when needed. Many of our Store Team Leaders have moved into Assistant Manager roles. This is a full-time position with an excellent benefit package.
Essential Functions:
· Work as a team with coworkers to complete assigned tasks and ensure proper customer service based on the daily needs and goals of the store
· Treat customers, coworkers and volunteers with dignity and respect in accordance with SVdP-GB mission and values
· Assign daily tasks to team members (paid and volunteer) to carry out operational directives given by Store Manager and /or Asst. Managers
· Answer team member questions, help with team member problems, and oversee team member work for quality and guideline compliance
· Report to work promptly and as scheduled, following SVdP guidelines for calling in any absences
· Train new and hold all team members accountable to St. Vincent de Paul standards
· Follow established SVdP policies and operating procedures Report employee or customer concerns to Store Management
· Accept and process donated, used merchandise received on the dock
· Ensure the proper sorting, cleaning and pricing of donated, used merchandise to prepare for sale in the stores
· Oversee the organization of pricing tags, supplies and merchandise
· Step in as acting manager in the absence of store Manager or Assistant Manager
· Fill in as needed for absent donation, production or retail employees
· Answer customer questions about merchandise or customer service
· Oversee the organization, supplies and cleanliness of each cashier station
· Maintain a visually enticing store that is neat, clean, organized and adequately stocked
· Monitor employee breaks
· Open and close store/loading dock as instructed by Store Management
· Ensure that health, safety, and security rules are followed, documenting any incidents or accidents
· Other duties as assigned by Store Manager
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of thrift store operations, POS and product value
Knowledge of, or ability to learn, SVdP policies and procedures
Knowledge of principles or processes for providing effective customer service
Skill in use of standard office equipment as copiers, phone systems
Skill in communicating effectively in English, in both written and verbal forms
Skill in managing one’s own time to meet deadlines
Ability to communicate and interact effectively with team members, customers and managers
Ability to plan, assign and lead the work of others
Ability to work successfully as a member of a team ad independently with moderate supervision
Ability to handle difficult and stressful situations with professional composure
Ability to work a flexible schedule with changing priorities
Ability to process and handle confidential information with discretion
Physical condition adequate to permit full performance of duties
