Position Overview

The Staff Accountant is responsible for a variety of tasks within the Accounting and Finance organization, including revenue recognition, maintaining financial reports, records, and general ledgers; preparing and analyzing budget and projections as well as all other general accounting duties. The Staff Accountant will report to the Controller.

Classification: Exempt

Primary Responsibilities:

· Actively participate in the preparation of monthly financial statements, including Income Statement, Balance Sheet, and Statement of Cash Flows · Ensure that all balance sheet accounts are timely and accurately reconciled to the General Ledger· Ensure that supporting details for general ledger accounts are reconciled timely and accurately each month· Ensure that supporting documents are provided and are properly reviewed and approved by management personnel (invoices, reports, receipts, etc.)· Cross train and provide redundancy for Full Cycle Account Payable· Cross train and provide redundancy for Full Cycle Accounts Receivable including invoice preparation and extremely detailed payment application· Perform monthly bank reconciliations· Tracking of all Fixed Assets additions/disposals and depreciation calculations· Ensure that all Company accounting and finance policies and procedures are adhered to.· Ensure that all accounting functions are completed timely so that financial statements can be completed and closed according to the published financial close calendar.· Prepare documentation for external auditors· Completion of any other projects requested by Controller or CFO

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in a Staff Accountant position
  • Associate’s degree or other higher education preferred
· Advanced computer skills including a high degree of proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and PowerPoint , and Skype· Knowledge of Quickbooks· Able to function independently without constant supervision and adapt to change. · Positive attitude and the ability and desire to work in a company that embraces collaboration and a team approach. · Knowledge of QuickBooks · Professional and highly motivated “self-starter” with the ability to exercise initiative.· Excellent task management and prioritization skills.· Proven ability to successfully build and cultivate excellent long-term relationships · Excellent follow up
