The ideal candidate will be able to independently perform routine accounting functions and general ledger activities, requiring a working knowledge of GAAP. Responsibilities:

Responsibilities:
- Prepare accurate, timely financial statements in accordance with our established schedule and with input from the rest of the accounting department
- Conduct monthly and quarterly account reconciliations (including balance sheet) to ensure accurate reporting and ledger maintenance
- Prepare month-end journal entries and work with team to prepare division consolidation as well as transfer of GL balances from subsidiary system to primary ERP system.
- Analyze financial statements for discrepancies and other issues that should be brought to the Controller's attention
- Review and reconcile inter-company transactions
- Prepare month-end financial analyses for respective corporate retail stores to identify key drivers of performance and variance to prior month, prior year and plan.
- Work with accounts payable department to ensure appropriate cut-off and reporting of all expenses
- Coordinate audits and assist Controller with conducting audits
- Conduct regular ledger maintenance as needed
- Responsible for monthly calculation, review and billing of revenue using enhanced financial models
- Analyze monthly A/R aging and work together with A/R team to successfully recover outstanding AR
- Compile and analyze financial information to prepare journal entries and identify key trends requiring further investigation.
- Responsible for month-end close process including but not limited to bank reconciliations, balance sheet account reconciliations, completion of journal entries and other ad-hoc analysis and support needed to complete close process.
- Prepare monthly variance analysis for your brand(s)
- Assist with documentation and enhancement of internal processes and workflows
- Provide assistance needed by auditors for quarterly and yearly review.
Qualifications:
- 2+ years of Accounting experience required, experience a public accounting firm preferred
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- Advanced Excel / PowerPoint skills
- Must be a proactive & highly organized self-starter with excellent communication / collaboration skills
- Must be flexible, able to handle multiple priorities and work independently
- Ability to think creatively while maintaining high standards of accuracy and precision
- Industry experience – prior retail or franchise experience a plus but not required
