Staff Cost & JIB Accountant Job at EP Energy
The Staff Cost & JIB Accountant will report to the Joint Interest & Cost Manager and will be an instrumental member of the Accounting team, working independently and proactively on numerous complex Cost & JIB accounting tasks.
Responsibilities
- Records oil and gas expenses for Texas operated properties
- Conducts ad-hoc analysis and variance analysis as needed on Texas operated and non-operated properties
- Performs O&M and CAPEX accruals and partner with Field on operating and non-operating wells
- Liaison with Field Personnel, Production, Division Orders, upper management and other departments within the organization
- Prepares monthly journal entries and JIB allocation updates
- Performs account reconciliations monthly or quarterly
- Performs AFE maintenance and setups monthly in AFE system and BOLO
- Performs special projects that require knowledge of oil and gas cost accounting
- Setup and maintain all JIB, Cost, and AFE cross references
- Utilize COPAS documents & knowledge in new activity and yearly escalations
- Support A&D activity through data requests or data compilation
- Develops understanding of Masterfile setups and downstream impacts
- Completes special projects, as assigned
