Under the direction of the Principal Investigator the Staff Research Associate will oversee day-to-day activities for public health research studies using technologies to improve public health and clinical care. Applicants must be both efficient and detail oriented as our projects require high attention to detail and fast turn around time. -The candidate will be responsible for (and must have prior experience in) development and management of IRB submissions, participant recruitment, submission of administrative documentation, and all study related activities.

-Our research is focused on sensitive populations, such as, people at risk for and affected by HIV, substance use, and mental/behavioral health issues.

-Our research involves the use of technologies such as social media, wearable devices, and other online tools to change and monitor health behaviors.

*The preferred candidate will have an MS in Public Health or a related field as well as 2 or more years of academic research experience in a similar role, including demonstrated expertise in IRB submissions and participant recruitment. Experience using technologies for recruitment, such as Facebook and Google Ads is required. The candidate must also have experience in communicating with sensitive populations such as men who have sex with men and substance users.

You will be hired for this position by a UC Irvine contractor. If you are found to be a good fit for this position, the goal would be to have you hired by UCI directly in the future.
