Student Life Specialist Job at Virginia VA State University
The Student Life Specialist (Evening Shift) Plans, coordinates, implements, supervises and evaluates programs, activities and events of Student Success and Engagement with primary emphasis on academic enrichment, student development, cultural affairs and awareness, social and development and competence, commuter and graduate student services.
This evening shift position will have work hours from 4pm – 11pm EST .

Minimum Qualifications
- Demonstrtated working knowledge of college student development theory, minority student development theory, and retention theory.
- Must demonstrate ability to prioritize workload, display attentiveness to detail, possess excellent written and verbal communication skills, and have exceptional interpersonal/human relations skills.
- Must demonstrate excellent organizational/planning skills and be able to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Must show demonstrated ability to work with a diverse population of students, staff and faculty.
- Must demonstrate critical thinking, problem solving, and crisis management skills.
- Must demonstrate ability to function well under extreme pressure and multiple deadlines.
- Demonstrated experience developing and implementing a program model to facilitate learning and personal development of college students.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in student affairs or related field preferred but not required.
Experience working in college environment is strongly preferred.
